From the Principal

Hopefully you all had a relaxing long weekend. There are still occasional cases of covid 19 popping up among our families. Thanks again for supporting the school and other families by alerting us as soon as possible and keeping children with symptoms home. We have plenty of RATs at school, please feel free to collect as many as you need.

As a principal I regularly visit classrooms and will act as fill in teacher on occasion. I have been encouraged by the positive attitudes our students are displaying during their day to day learning. Positive learning habits are the greatest asset a child can have with their learning. The ability to face a challenge, understand that not everything is meant to be easy, and keep working hard is a huge benefit – and it is heartening to see these attributes on a daily basis.

We are still struggling to find OSHC staff. We are doing our best to avoid cutting back OSHC services, but this is a real possibility due to staffing pressures. If you know anyone who has, or is studying a Diploma of Early Childhood and Care or a CERT 3 in childcare (or equivalent) please point them in our direction.

 Michael Edwards
Principal

From the Office

CWA Agreement – OSHC users.
To ensure our records are up to date and that we are compliant, all families who use OSHC need to have signed the CWA agreement. Even if you are a very casual user it still needs to be signed.  I will be sending emails out asking you to log into Xplor and sign the agreement if you have not yet done so.  This needs to be done before the end of financial year.  If you have any queries please contact me.

3/4 Melbourne Camp and 5/6 Sovereign Hill Camp
Preparations are well under way for both camps.   Once the programs and costings are finalised permission forms will be sent home.
If your child won’t be attending the camp, please let Sandra and the classroom teacher know.

Paver Fundraiser
Thank you to all the families and community members who purchased a Paver.  Orders have now closed, and pavers are being ordered.

Enjoy your week,
Sandra

Choir News

Christmas is coming early this year for the Junior and Senior Choir! We have been honoured to be asked to present an item or two at the upcoming ‘Christmas in July Singalong’ at the Yackandandah Town Hall on the afternoon of Sunday, 31st July. This follows the very popular ANZAC Day Singalong in April. Further details of the event for parents will be given closer to the date. We have already started rehearsing some fun Christmas songs and are very excited to be part of the program alongside other musicians from Yackandandah and surrounds.

The organisers have offered a discount to parents of students who wish to be part of the audience and will offer tickets at a reduced re of $10 to accompanying parents and free entry for children in their care.
