From the Principal

It was a big week for camps last week for Yrs. 3-6. The feedback teachers received on camp was that the children conducted themselves very well and were a pleasure to work with. Well done, kids! Thank you to the teachers and parents who attended the camp and came back just as exhausted as the children. Without your willingness to give your time the camps would not happen.

A number of families will receive an email this week with a link to a parent survey. I encourage you complete the survey if a link is emailed to you. The survey results will assist us with our future planning.

We are still facing staff shortages in our Out of School Hours Care service. The staff we have are giving their all, but there are just not enough to run a Vacation Care program over the next holidays. For any families that may rely on vacation care I suggest seeking a place in a different program sooner rather than later. Here is a link to some services that are operating vacation care over the next holidays – there may be more options in different locations. https://www.careforkids.com.au/vacation-care/wodonga/3690

We will be running Vacation Care again when we have sufficient staff. If you know of anyone who may be interested in working in our OSHC service please let Michael or Sandra know.

Year 5/6 Skiing Program

Our first downhill skiing day for 2022 is this Friday, 19th August. Fingers crossed for a nice day.  Here are some reminders...

  • be at school at 6.40am for a ski gear check in Brendan’s classroom.
  • the bus is due to leave at 7am and return to school at around 6pm.
  • students who experience travel sickness are recommended to take appropriate medication in the morning (and will be seated near the front of the bus). Any other medication is to be handed to Earle on the morning with written instructions for dosage and time.
  • we are requesting that all skiers complete a RAT sometime between school finishing on Thursday and getting on the bus Friday morning.
  • masks are required for bus travel.
  • message Earle if your child is unwell (check email for contact details).
  • pack a day pack with lunch, snacks and drink bottle. There should also be room for extra clothing if students need to remove a layer or two while skiing.
  • the current forecast is for wet & windy weather so there is a possibility that the day will be postponed – keep an eye out for an email from Earle.
  • Please ensure that adequate clothing is provided
  • check for email updates closer to Friday.

If skiing is postponed on Friday, this day will be held on our back up day, Friday 2nd September.  Our day 2  skiing day will go ahead as planned next week.

Thanks, again, to the parent helpers who have volunteered their time to support our students and make days like this possible.
