From the Principal

Last Thursday Lauren and the Junior School Council held the school disco. They put on a wonderful event and DJ Stace had the room pumping. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and looked fantastic in their 80’s outfits. Big thanks to the volunteers who kept the pizza oven hot and the pizzas flowing. Well done Lauren, Stace and the Junior School Council.

At this Friday’s assembly Foundation students will present their senior buddies with an oak sapling as gift to remember their time at school. Ms Prlic will also visit for the assembly so we will have a chance to wish her all the best for her retirement.

Next week on Tuesday (December 13th) students will spend the day in their 2023 classes. We will let the students know on Monday 12th which class they will be in and where they will be for the transition day. We are also aiming to send end of year reports home early next week.

Christmas Choir Happenings.

Yackandandah Carols in Memorial Gardens
It certainly is a busy time of year! A last minute invitation has been extended to our choirs to join the program for the Yackandandah Town Carols in the Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, 14th December. The festivities begin at 6:30pm and students are encouraged to wear Christmas colours or Christmas themed clothing. It would be great to see as many singers there as possible! Singers who are available to participate can just let Jenny know in our next Choir rehearsal, this coming Friday 9th December.

Yackandandah Christmas Singalong
A huge thank you to the nearly 50 students who came along to the Yack Singalong on Saturday! The choir were FANTASTIC and sang with so much energy and confidence and were a real highlight of the night. Our choir was amongst a very impressive line up of local musical groups and the night was a terrific success for all.

YPS Instrumental Concert
Yesterday, nearly 40 YPS instrumental students strutted their stuff on the town hall stage to perform to family and friends. It was a lovely afternoon, allowing students of Bob and Jenny who play Piano, Ukelele and Guitar to showcase their skills in a more formal setting. Big thanks to all who came along to support our musical stars and congratulations to the players themselves who performed so confidently.

Junior School Council News

On Thursday the 3rd of December, the Junior School Council proudly hosted our first disco in 3 years!! It was a fabulous night of dancing, friendship and enjoying delicious woodfired pizzas! The theme was 80’s and wowee, did the students look AMAZING! The effort that went into the costumes was fabulous – so much colour! A HUGE thank you to all of the wonderful parents who helped make this event come to life by: selling drinks, cooking pizzas, making pizzas, moving furniture and cleaning up post event. A special thanks to DJ Stace, who had all the moves, groovy tunes, games and prizes to keep the night pumping!
