The coming of the colder weather seems to have brought about the usual sniffles, colds and other ailments. Thank you for your support in keeping children home if they are not well. It certainly helps reduce the spread of infection. Please keep in mind we have plenty of covid RATs at school if you want them.
I will be shortly sending an email to all families of students in Yrs. 4, 5 and 6 about the annual student surveys. The surveys help the school with annual planning. Please read the information in the email. If you don’t want your child to participate in the survey, please let us know. If you are content for your child to participate, you don’t need to do anything.

It was a great start to the T2 Hot lunch program! B&E rolls are always a popular meal!
Lexi and Laycee preparing the fruit platters.
Next week the majority of students will be off site, either at the cross country or on an excursion…so we have low order numbers, a rarity!
Here is the hot lunch roster for T2! Thanks in advance to all the helpers, your time and effort is much appreciated!

This week in SEL, students explored the Yellow Zone, in the Zones of Regulation. The Zones of Regulation platform allows children to learn about their emotions in a safe and supportive way and teaches them tools (or strategies) to assist them with regulation. The Yellow Zone includes feelings like silly/losing some control, excitement, worry and nervousness; they’re our high and fast emotions. We all feel them from time to time. The children talked about how our bodies feel and look when we’re experiencing these emotions and learned some tools for their ‘Zones Toolbox’. Some tools were: body jiggles, the take 5 breath, count to 10 and back again, playing a board game and meditation art.

District Cross Country
This Friday 12th May Yackandandah Primary School will be hosting the District Cross-Country event. We are still looking for a few more adult helpers, especially at the finish line, to make the day run smoothly. The event will run from 10.15am until 1pm. If you are able to help out on the day, please let Brendan or the office know.

Tomato Sauce Fundraiser - Limited Product Run - Be Quick
The school had a quantity of tomatoes left over from the Folk Festival dinner. These tomatoes were fantastic table quality, and to avoid wastage have been turned into a limited production of gourmet tomato sauce. The school is selling large bottles for $20, and small bottles for $12. This sauce is the perfect accompaniment for local pies, and other savoury goodies.
A big thank you to Paul & Trish Anderson for making the sauce.
