Issue 17

From the Principal

It’s great that we are back for face to face learning. Thanks everyone for supporting us once again. We still need to maintain COVID safe protocols around the school. This means extra cleaning/sanitising, hand hygiene, physical distancing and masks.  Please only come onto the school site if necessary. Importantly, your child should be kept at home if at all unwell.

At this stage we are not sure if the Division Cross-Country run is still going ahead on Friday. Hopefully we will learn more in the next day or two.

On the first day of Term Three, Monday July 12th, there will be a pupil free day. The purpose of this day is for staff to complete first aid training. Teachers need to have current first aid training and most are now almost due for their renewal training.

This Wednesday is Miss Ash’s final day with us. We wish her all the best as she begins teaching at Dinner Plain next term. Stacey will return before the end of this term to resume her position.

I will be putting in a uniform order on Friday.  If anyone would like to order a soft shell jacket please let me know.  There are samples in the office for students to try on for size.

A few Foundation families still haven’t returned their School Nursing Program questionnaire.  Please return it tomorrow if you haven’t yet done so. If you do not wish your child to participate, please tick the NO consent box, sign on page 5 and return it to school.

OSHC News

Our Program
It’s been a quieter week than usual at OSHC with students returning to home learning! We hope it all went well and fun was had by all! It was great to see most of our children back in this morning. And we are back to a busy few weeks ahead!

We have been working with the children the last week on some activities that recognise and acknowledge reconciliation week. The children worked together to create a wonderful group painting using a traditional dot style. This gave us a great opportunity to also look into some famous indigenous artists and artworks.

We are looking at adding more cooking to our ASC program in the next few weeks as it too cold and wet some days to go outside. If you or your child have a favourite recipe or something you’d really like to see made in OSHC please let us know and we can have a go! So far we have made banana choc chip muffins, pancakes and damper!

Bookings
Please remember bookings can be created and deleted for our care sessions via the iParent Portal. We ask that if you require care and haven’t done so already to create a portal account and enrol your children into our service. The link for the portal is below.

There is a step-by-step guide link below for creating a portal account and enrolling a child.

Vacation Care
Vacation is fast approaching, we understand that you and your children are probably eager to see our upcoming program! We have been keeping an eye on the current situation with Covid restrictions and are trying to plan an engaging program that abides by the restrictions in place. Below is a program with a few days blank, these days will be filled when we know more about what we can and can’t do in regards to excursions with restrictions changing. We will be keeping a close eye on this and will let you know as soon as we do what the plan is for those days. As always bookings for vacation care can be made via the portal or by emailing myself.

Thanks
OSHC Team
