There are plenty of opportunities for students to experience leadership at Yackandandah Primary School. Our school is divided into four ‘houses’. Each house has a Captain and a Vice-Captain. All classes from Yr. 3 and up are represented by two Junior School Councilors. There are also two overall school captains.
Yackandandah Primary School has one of its students sit on the Indigo Shire Junior School Council along with other student representatives from the municipality. In Yrs. 5&6 there are opportunities for leadership development via the 15 Mile Creek Leadership Camp and the Halogen Leadership Day organised by Indigo Shire Council.
We believe that leadership opportunities are a part of learning greater responsibility.
