Hot Lunch

A 'hot lunch' option is offered to students on most Friday's during the school term.

Each hot lunch meal is hand made and costs $5; this includes an individually served hot meal and fruit, in line with our Healthy eating and oral health policy.

The menu is released at the start of each term and students can nominate the meals (if any) that they wish to receive, via an electronic form.

Some meal options that have been offered are; fried rice, egg and bacon roll, burrito's, hamburgers, and sometimes local food providers, like Beechworth Bakery, have prepared and delivered hot meals too.

Parents and carers volunteer their time (Friday's 9am-11:30am) to; collect ingredients from local suppliers and prepare & cook the hot meals from within the school kitchen.

The meals are delivered to the classroom, where the class teacher hand's them out to the students that have ordered them.

The hot lunch program has created a lovely community culture, whereby parents have the opportunity to spend time at our school, meet other parents and interact with the children during their lunch time.

If you have any questions or would like to get involved with our hot lunch program, then please contact the hot lunch coordinator at ypshotlunch@gmail.com
