From the Principal

We are experiencing a high level of student absence due to illness at the moment. We appreciate your help in reducing the spread of illness by keeping your child at home when unwell. Please remember to let the school know of your child’s absence as we are required to record the reasons for non-attendance.

Please remember to clearly label all jumpers with your child’s name. We are finding our lost property storage filling up fast in the cooler weather.

Social & Emotional Learning

Last week in SEL, students explored the final zone, in the Zones of Regulation- the Green Zone. The Zones of Regulation platform allows children to learn about their emotions in a safe and supportive way and teaches them tools (or strategies) to assist them with regulation. The Green Zone includes feelings like happy, calm, focused and safe; they’re our ready to learn emotions.

The students talked about how their bodies feel and look when experiencing these emotions and learned that when in Green Zone, they can: play a game successfully, learn something new and listen to their teachers and peers effectively. Green means go!

Cross-country Training
Colin Thornton has offered to once again provide free after school training sessions for any runners who might be interested. He provided them last year with great results. Please know that this is completely optional, is an out-of-school activity, and is a private arrangement between yourself and Colin.

If your child is keen to take part, Colin would love to hear from you. The sessions are also open to any interested young runners (they do not have to have qualified for Division to take part). The best way to contact Colin is at: cathornton@hotmail.com
