Today we welcome Robyn McClennan to our teaching staff. Robyn is replacing Emily Hurley in 1/2H who has begun her family leave. Welcome aboard, Robyn and best of luck Emily!
Our second Kindergarten to Foundation transition day is this Wednesday. We look forward to getting to know our 2024 Foundation students a little better and helping them get used to ‘big school.’
The school concert is on Thursday 9th November at 12noon and 6pm. The 12 o’clock performance is a dress rehearsal but families are welcome to attend this performance instead of the later one. This will help keep numbers down a bit in the evening.
I would like to remind everyone that we still have COVID tests available at school. There are a number of cases of covid in our community so be on the lookout for symptoms. The tests can be collected from our office.
Please remember that next Monday 6th November is a pupil free day.

Dates to Remember
The calendar on the school website has now been updated and will continue to be updated with any new events. A quick and easy way to access all school events is via the Event Quick View widget at the bottom of the newsletter page. If you click on ‘more dates’ you will see the full list of events that is happening at school with the times. I will continue to put in the Dates to Remember in the actual newsletter for the next couple of weeks and then that will cease. The calendar is also accessible by logging into the school website.
Student Absences
Students who have had unexplained absences have today taken home a Student Absentee Letter. Could parents please write the reason for the absence, sign the form and return it to school. My apologies if you did notify the school and it has been missed.
Enjoy your week.

This week's Hot Lunch is Sausage/Veggie Rolls.
Just a few gaps left on the volunteer roster, please let me know if you can help - no experience necessary!
Many thanks to last week's student volunteers, Aiden and Gabrielle. We were a volunteer short on a busy morning and these two seamlessly slotted in and covered the gap, and also found some misplaced pizza cutters. Star helpers for the term!

During SEL in the last couple of weeks, we have been exploring identity. We’ve learned that everyone has an identity, and all identities are different. We can be identified in many ways, like fingerprints, genetics, what we like and dislike, and how we think and behave. After discussions were had, the children agreed that it’s important to respect other identities, even if it doesn’t match up with yours.
Our focus last week was around the idea that anyone can be strong, anyone can be gentle. Students discovered that we can be strong and gentle not just in our bodies, but also in our minds and hearts. Classes put these two things to the test when they participated in tug-o-war and egg and spoon races.
