Yr. 6 students are visiting Beechworth Secondary College this week to become more familiar with secondary school settings. All Yr. 6 students are invited – including those who will be attending different secondary schools in 2025.

Don’t forget to get your recipes into the Yackandandah Primary School Cookbook! The cookbook will be a high-quality publication and it’s worth getting your recipe in for posterity. See further details in the rest of the newsletter or follow these links:

Times Table Rockstar

Congratulations to the following students who have turned their heat maps green on timetables rockstars this week. This means they are consistently answering the 12x tables questions in 4 seconds or less.

**Announcing our first grades 3 & 4 Students to go green this year**

Nate Milward (3/4R)

Felix Anderson (3/4A)

Grace Westbrook (5/6B)

Zoe Blair (5/6B)

A reminder to all Grades 3-6 students and parents at home, it’s recommended a “little and often” approach is adopted; 3 minutes practice a day, 4 or 5 times a week is a good target.

Contact your child’s teacher if you require more information on how you can support your child to turn their heat map green.

A Way With Words

A Way with Words!

Recently, a number of students entered a short story competition as part of the Winterwords festival held in Beechworth over the weekend. The school is delighted to let you know that out of 68 entries across the region, Yackandandah Primary School took out a clean sweep! Such was the high standard of the writing that the judges decided to award three equal winners. Congratulations to Lexi Agnew, Nora Glanville, and Lara Bebbington for their writing success. Nora is currently away, but Lexi and Lara enjoyed the opportunity to read their stories in front of a very impressed audience as part of their award presentation.

Well done to all involved, including the many other students in the senior area who crafted some really nice stories as part of the competition.
