Hoodies
After consultation with School Council and Junior School Council we have decided to introduce a hoodie option into the school uniform options. We have noticed a number of students choosing not to wear school uniform jumpers in favour of hoodies. The uniform hoodies will be in the school colour and have a logo the same as the jumpers and polo shirts. We encourage families to ensure their children are in school uniform. The jumper options will still be available, and families will have the choice of jumper and/or hoodie. We will let you know when the hoodies are available for purchase. The cost for the hoodies are $47 and the link to our order form is below.

The Folk Festival is this weekend. The school oval will be out of action from Thursday this week until Tuesday next week to enable the erection and dismantling of the Marquee venue for the festival.

Thank you for the hard work and the very long hours already put in. The parade is Friday evening – keep an eye out for details about where the parade starts and ends.

Folk Festival.
Pumping jams echoing around the town. Delicious smells wafting throughout the streets. Spending time with family and friends, laughing, dancing and sharing in the cheer. Yack is a total vibe at this time of year.
Our school is heavily involved in the festival, and it would not happen without the strong commitment from staff and families. We march in the parade; we have dedicated families organising a Community Dinner and we run an unreal market on the Sunday. Who’s keen for a slinky spud?
With all this, there also comes an influx of visitors to the area and the town is alive and teeming with people. This weekend, we will see lots of movement and freedom to roam and explore.
We know some families have fantastic ways of ensuring their child/ren can be safe and know where to seek help. This might be something you talk to your child about before the festivities begin. Some examples are, having a meeting spot or a safe place to go, learning how to use the free pay phone on high street, having a contact number written on a hand for someone else to ring in case of an emergency, and also asking your child to always have someone with them they know, whether that’s an adult or a friend. All these things provide safe boundaries, and we all know children thrive when safe boundaries are in place.
Folk Festival really is THE most amazing and exciting time for our young kids.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone. I might catch you at the slinky spud van.

Yesterday's Hot Lunch was Cheesy Quesadillas.
It was a hectic morning preparing lunch around electrical issues and food deliveries for the upcoming folk festival community dinner. We wouldn't have managed to get the food prepared in time without our amazing student helpers for the day - thanks Seb and Kaitlyn!!
Only 2 more lunches to go for the term!

House Cross-Country
The House Cross-Country event is taking place on Thursday 27th March, at the Yackandandah Sports Park. The event will begin at 9am and we ask that students be dropped off at the sports park directly, after 8.40am, rather than going to school. The school bus will drop kids off at the sports park, and a teacher will walk with students from Before School Care, at 8.40am.
A draft timetable is below.
Students will be competing in their houses and are encouraged to wear their house colours for the day. Students should also wear appropriate footwear and bring their bag with snacks and water. Ribbons will be handed out for students who come 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their age group and gender.
In the senior age groups (9/10, 11, 12/13) up to 10 runners from each classification can qualify for the District event, however, students will need to demonstrate that they can run the course in a competitive time to qualify. The District event will be held in Beechworth on Tuesday, 20th May.
