From the Principal

Congratulations to students who are competing at the Division Cross-Country event in Wodonga today. It is a great opportunity to compete in a strong field and experience the excitement of the race.

Yrs 3, 4 and 5 students have the opportunity today to participate in a drama workshop focussing on physical storytelling. The workshops have been organised by Indigo Shire Council and will be run by theatre company ‘Asking for Trouble’.

Thank you everyone for respecting the altered parking conditions in Wellsford St. The change has freed up more space for the busy drop off and pick up times.

Uniform Shop

Just a quick update—we still have a few hoodies on back order, but we've just placed another order to keep things moving.
With the colder weather setting in, we know how much everyone’s looking forward to their warm hoodies! We’ll be in touch as soon as they arrive.

Also, a friendly reminder to please label all school uniforms (including hoodies!)—it really helps us keep lost property to a minimum.

Thanks so much for your continued patience and support.

Stay warm and have a great weekend!

Canberra Camp Pacer Rebate

Students from our school have recently undertaken an education tour of the national capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage, and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education.

To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding to our school in the amount of $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Support

Social & Emotional Learning
Over the coming weeks in SEL, students are going to be exploring personal/cultural strengths and character traits. They will participate in activities that assist them to identify and describe personal and cultural strengths, explain how these strengths contribute to a family, school and community, and finally, how to use strengths when encountering challenging situations and interactions.

Your family might like to discuss each other’s strengths, and how there may be some similarities in those strengths but there may also be some differences. It’s important to discuss and celebrate the differences, as it’s in recognising those differences that we begin to build acceptance and understanding of others, regardless of learning styles, appearance or culture.
A fun way to do this is to create a Superpower Strengths Shield. Each family member gets a shield and draws/labels their strengths.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
