This week's Hot Lunch is Chicken/Tofu Wraps.
Somehow, we are already more than halfway through term 2! It's been a busy term, and we have really appreciated the year 6 student helpers who keep us on track when there are lots of meals to prepare.

We still have several Hot Lunch spots to fill up over the coming weeks. Please reach out if you are able to help, even for just our busiest hour from 10-11 am. Many thanks in advance!

Sport News

Division Cross Country Wrap-Up
Congratulations to all 24 students who took part in the Division Cross Country event on Friday, 30th May at Willow Park, Wodonga!
Your enthusiasm, dedication, and embodiment of our school values — especially the way you encouraged and supported one another — made us incredibly proud. It was wonderful to hear members of the public commenting positively on how well our school community supported each other. What fantastic feedback!

A special congratulations to the 8 students who placed in the top 12 of their events and have qualified for the Regional Cross Country. This next stage will take place in Benalla on Friday, 13th June. Information about this event was distributed to those students last Friday.
Best of luck to all our runners — keep up the training and remember to double knot those shoelaces.

Lawn Bowls Reflection – Grade 5/6
Over two 45-minute sessions, our Grade 5/6 students had the opportunity to participate in lawn bowls with the wonderful volunteers from the Yackandandah Bowling Club. The aim of these sessions was to introduce students to the basic skills of lawn bowls, key techniques, and the rules of the game.
Students learned how to curve the ball and “hit the kitty,” while also developing tactics and strategies as they competed against one another. It was fantastic to see students stepping out of their comfort zones, building confidence, and working cooperatively in teams.
A huge thank you to the volunteers from the Yackandandah Bowling Club for generously offering your time and expertise to support our students in trying something new. Your guidance and encouragement made the experience both fun and educational.
Here are some reflections from our students:
• “I really like how you can verse other people and try to get lots of points. Thank you for giving up your time to teach us.”
• “Thank you for letting us have the opportunity to learn new skills and try something new.”
• “I really enjoyed learning the rules of the game and learning how to curve the ball.”
One student even mentioned he’s now looking forward to “acing” his parents at lawn bowls!
Thank you also to our Grade 5/6 students for showing enthusiasm, respect, and a strong display of our school values throughout the sessions. You represented Yackandandah Primary School with pride.

Hello everyone,
My name is Briana—many of you around town would know me as Bri.
A little bit about me: I'm in my third year at La Trobe University, studying to become a primary school teacher. I'm currently working at Yackandandah Primary School doing some OSHC work, and I’m absolutely loving it!
Children’s education is very important to me, and I believe every child should have access to it, no matter their situation at home. That’s why I’ve signed up for the Dream Run, a fundraiser organised by The Smith Family's Learning for Life program.
My job this month is to run 50km. Your job is much easier—just scan the QR code to visit my page and donate to support these beautiful children.
We already reached our target in just 4 days!! Which means we have already provided 10 book packs to children and 7 primary school packs! So, we have upped the target

Thank you, Yack! Bri
