Yr. 5/6 Camp
The Year 5/6 students return from their three-day camp to Sovereign Hill this afternoon. The Sovereign Hill camp supports the students’ learning about Australian History by immersing them in a pre-Federation gold mining settlement environment. I have no doubt the students are thoroughly enjoying the experience. A huge thanks to the staff and the parent volunteers who support the students throughout the camp experience.
Teaching and Learning
All Victorian Government Schools are expected to use the same teaching and learning methodology, called the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2 (VTLM2). The VTLM2 is informed by cognitive science and research evidence. You can learn more about the VTLM2 here: https://www.academy.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/2025-07/pv_helping_every_child_succeed.pdf
Family Statements
Family statements will be emailed to families next week for any outstanding payments relating to excursions and school activities that students have attended. We would greatly appreciate prompt payment of any outstanding balances.
Ski Program – Term 3
A reminder that our ski program will be taking place next term. Payments must be made prior to each ski day. Families who would prefer to pay in instalments are encouraged to contact Sandra to discuss a payment arrangement.
Uniform Reminder
A quick reminder to check that your child's jumpers and hoodies are clearly named. Labelling clothing helps us reunite lost items with their owners quickly and keeps our lost property collection to a minimum.
Spare Clothes
With the recent wet weather, our playground areas can become quite muddy. We encourage families of younger students to pack a spare set of clothes in their child's bag, just in case they need a change during the school day.
Have a great weekend!
Sandra and Kerryn
Next week: Maeve Van Duinen and Felix Anderson

Bonjour tout le monde!
In French during Week 1 of Term 3, we will be celebrating Bastille Day or La Fête Nationale- an important day on the French calendar!
Students are encouraged to dress up and wear French inspired clothes to school- red, white & blue; striped tops, beret’s, neck scarves etc. If your child does not want to dress up, then school uniform should be worn as usual.
Tuesday 14 July is Bastille Day dress up day for F/1K, F/1ER and 1/2T.
Wednesday 15 July is Bastille Day dress up day for 2/3R, all 3/4 and all 5/6 students.
It will be a lot of fun, and Mandy & I are planning a petite collation (small snack) to accompany the days’ celebrations.
I am looking for one or two parent helpers for each session on Wednesday 15 July, to help with simple food preparation and clean up. Let me know if you can help for an hour during the day. (Dressing up is optional, but highly encouraged!)

Paralympians visit - Rae Anderson and Jack Swift
On Tuesday, 9th June, we welcomed two Paralympians, Rae Anderson and Jack Swift, to our school. They shared their achievements, challenges, and personal journeys as Paralympic athletes with our Grade 2/3, 3/4, and 5/6 students.
We sincerely thank Rae and Jack for their time and generosity in sharing their experiences. Their presentation helped students gain a greater understanding of the importance of inclusion and highlighted the valuable contributions that people with disabilities make in sport and the wider community. Their stories were both inspiring and educational for all who attended.
