Our digital devices policy has been updated. The Department of Education has updated its global policy around mobile phones in schools to include other devices such as smart glasses. A draft policy is available to read on our website here: https://www.yackaps.vic.edu.au/page/188/Policies-and-Documents
You are welcome to provide feedback on the policy prior to our next School Council meeting in November. Please keep in mind that most of the policy is determined by the Department of Education and we are not able to change most of what you read.

A Friendly Reminder – Please Check Compass.
Just a little reminder to families to regularly log in to Compass and check for any outstanding permission forms, consents or school notices. We’ve noticed that some alerts may not be reaching everyone, so it’s always a good idea to check Compass directly to make sure nothing gets missed.

Introducing the Yack Folk Festival Street Parade Theme for 2027, a 'throwback to the NEON 90's!!!!' Our commissioned Street Parade artist, Elise Higginson, will be running a BOOM BOX Making Workshop for any local community groups wishing to gather some early-bird ideas and creative inspiration for op-shop costume designs and iconic 90's props to carry in the YFF Street Parade in 2027.

We’re having a fabulous time exploring the art of gel-plate printing, where every print is a little adventure! Each press and peel reveals exciting new shapes, colours and textures, with even our ghost prints creating their own unique magic. No two prints are ever quite the same!
Once we’ve built up a collection of prints, we’ll dive into the wonderful world of collage, transforming our creations into still lifes and nature-inspired landscapes.
Here’s a peek at some of the beautiful artwork created so far! Hush’s prints (the first two) showcase the magic of the process, Hughie from Year 3/4 has created eye-catching patterns, Harvey’s warm-coloured shapes are bursting with warmth, and Percy from Year 5/6 has made a bold statement with a striking use of red.
